BACON AND DAY SERENADER SILVER BELL TENOR BANJO
A lovely example of the 19 standard scale length Bacon and Day Serenader Silver Bell tenor banjo, circa 1940s. As you can see from the photos the nickel plating is in excellent condition as is the Silver Bell tone ring - I've included a photo of the tone ring which I took when I had the banjo stripped down. It has all original hardware including the original tuners, armrest and Gretch engraved tailpiece. The back of the resonator shows expected wear for this age of instrument and the armrest shows brassing through use. It's been used but not abused and the neck is dead straight and the frets are excellent. A great player, this banjo has been fitted with a new black head. Comes with a solid and usable case but about which I can safely say that it would not win any beauty competitions as it's fairly knocked about. Price: £1000
